PHOTO SHARING
Picture-smart learners may arrange and group photos or graphics the same way word-smart learners rearrange facts on index cards or sticky notes.
There are many ways to use photo-sharing websites: on Flickr, students can upload and save photos they take themselves; on Pinterest or Narrable, they can save pictures they find on other websites.
Using online “pinboards" (Pinterest, Narrable), the learner can save everything from photos to blog posts in one easily accessible and usable place. Once the learner collects the information (from a variety of sources) s/he can spend time rearranging the 'pins' to best present the information as well as to make it visually attractive.

WEBSITES FOR PHOTO SHARING
Flickr
www.flickr.com Upload photos to Flickr using a computer, a mobile device, or email. Learners can add information to photos, and view and comment on each other's photos. It's easy to share photos from Flickr to a blog or website. |
Pinterest
www.pinterest.com Pinterest users create a "board" (like a corkboard, wall or canvas) where they can pin images, links, and videos from any website. Learners can use it as a visual brainstorming tool, or a way to collect and share photos. Each image on Pinterest links back to the original source (ie: full recipe or instructions for a craft). |
Narrable
www.narrable.com Narrable can be used for creating short narrated slideshows. Photos are uploaded and narration can be recorded. The final project can be shared via email or embedded into a blog. Five narrables can be created for free. Education pricing is also available. |
